Some of our other projects include

The way Intercare works not only benefits around 130 health units in rural Africa by providing them with vital medical supplies, but also makes use of surplus medicines from pharmaceutical companies and medical wholesalers, that would otherwise be incinerated. In addition, by recycling healthcare products donated by GPs, Inter Care also helps reduce NHS waste.

Home-Start UK

Home-Start is a national family support charity that helps parents to build better lives for their children. Our volunteers provide support and friendship to more than 29,170 families every year.

We have more than 288 local Home-Starts. We work in communities across the UK and with families on British Forces bases in Germany and Cyprus.

Lifeboat RNLI

The charity that saves lives at sea. Inner Wheel have donated two lifeboats – “Inner Wheel” which was launched in 1984 in Poole – the 50th Anniversary of the Association of Inner Wheel Clubs. Inner Wheel II was launched on 10th September 2000 at the RNLI Poole headquarters and has been used as a relief boat in many areas.

National Arboretum

The Inner Wheel Grove is situated in the beautiful surroundings of the National Arboretum at Alrewas Staffordshire. It was following the hard work in the setting up of the Arboretum by Past District 6 Chairman Jackie Fisher that Inner Wheel were given the Grove.  The centre piece is a design of the Inner Wheel emblem.  The Grove was established in 2002 and in 2009 the Inner Wheel Gates were officially opened.  In the Grove plaques can be found in memory of our many friends and President Gill Rowley will be planting a Magnolia tree in April to mark the 90 anniversary of the formation of the first Inner Wheel club.

RNIB Talking Books

Almost two million people are living with sight loss in the UK. When you lose your sight, you feel like you lose everything.  Listening to a Talking Book is one of the things that people can enjoy without having to rely on anyone else. That feeling of independence is so important.

Alzheimer’s Society is a membership organisation, which works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The National Osteoporosis Society

Dedicated to improving the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of osteoporosis and fragility fractures. The charity was established in 1986.

The Irish Osteoporosis Society

A charity dedicated to reducing the incidence of Osteoporosis and promoting bone health. The IOS provides information to the public and health professionals on all aspects of the disease and offers support to people with Osteoporosis, their families, and everyone at risk from the disease.

The Stroke Association

Providing high quality, up-to-date stroke information for stroke patients, their families and carers.

Breakthrough Breast Cancer

Saves lives through improving early diagnosis, developing new treatments and preventing all types of breast cancer.

Guide Dogs for the Blind

Help people who are blind and partially sighted to enjoy the same freedom of movement as everyone else.

Cystic Fybrosis

Is a life-shortening inherited disease, affecting over 10,000 people in the UK. You can’t catch or develop cystic fibrosis, it’s something you’re born with and most cases in the UK are now diagnosed soon after birth.

Barnardo's

Supports the unsupported – Barnardo’s supports the children who need it most, like 14 year old Ellie who has been sexually exploited.  They believe the UK’s most vulnerable children should get the same support you give your children.

British Heart Foundation

The Biggest Funder of Heart Research In The UK/Irish Heart Foundation.

Sue Ryder

The leading palliative charity providing compassionate care and was founded in 1953 by Sue Ryder, with the creation of a nursing home in Suffolk.
